Stray VoltageStray voltage is often a concern in the dairy industry, but it can affect other livestock as well. Stray voltage or neutral to earth voltage produces a tiny electrical shock that is felt by animals through the stanchions or watering cups. Even at voltages far below those a human can feel, animals may be receiving shocks that may affect their behavior, milk production, and overall health. Your Cooperative offers a free on-site test for stray voltage and literature is available upon request. If you are interested in an on-site visit, please call Leann at 608-723-2121 or 800-236-2141 ext. 107 or email lhandel@srec.net. |
