Economic Development Program

Scenic Rivers Energy Cooperative believes that economic development is an important part of our mission throughout our service territory.  In supporting this belief SREC offers the following opportunities:

• Economic development loans available through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Economic Development Loan program.  These loans are at zero percent interest amortized for up to ten years. To qualify for the loan the company must create new jobs (relocating does not qualify).  The loan process can take up to a year to complete the process.

• Low interest loans through Dairyland Power Cooperative, our generation and transmission supplier, SREC has access to loans amortized over ten years.

• Incentives on energy efficient projects, such as lighting, variable speed drives, HVAC, etc., through not only Scenic Rivers Energy Cooperative but also Focus on Energy.
