Accountability to Our Members
Each cooperative member is located within a director district, with representation to the Board of Directors by a fellow member who was elected from the cooperative membership. There are nine (9) Director Districts, with each director elected to serve a three (3) year term. The director terms are staggered, providing continuity in planning and programs. Directors must reside in the district which they represent and must have an active account with Scenic Rivers Energy Cooperative.

A nominating committee will suggest candidates to serve as director for the next term of three (3) years. The election of directors is held at the membership's annual meeting, which is normally held in March.

Director Qualifications:
A director shall be elected to a three (3) year term. No person shall be eligible to become or remain a director or to hold any position of trust in the cooperative who:

1. is not a member and a bona fide resident of the director district which he or she has been nominated or elected to represent and who does not receive service from the cooperative at his or her residential abode; or
2. is in any way employed by or financially interested in a competing enterprise or a business selling energy or supplies to the cooperative, or a business primarily engaged in selling electrical or plumbing appliances, fixtures or supplies to members of the cooperative; or
3. is an incumbent of, or candidate for, an elective county, state or federal office filled by election on a party ticket.
